P!nk Opens Up About Her Weight Loss Journey and the Diet That Transformed Her

01/6How P!nk lost weight and gained more peace

P!nk, 43, has opened up about her journey to losing weight and feeling her best self. The singer revealed in an interview with Women’s Health that she was struggling to lose weight after the hip and double disc replacement surgery in her back. When nothing seemed to work, taking some time off for herself helped tremendously.

02/6When nothing seemed to work

“I was probably a bit depressed from all of the loss, and I couldn’t lose weight to save my life,” P!nk said. “I would work out three hours a day, eat clean, and my metabolism was a dud — I couldn’t get anything started. And I was like, ‘I’m exhausted, I’m sad, I haven’t been away from my family for three years — not even overnight. And I just need a minute.'”

03/6The Kushi diet

She traveled to the SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain for a two-week program. These 2 weeks were packed with all things healthy that helped her lose weight as well as feel better about herself.

During the two weeks, the Grammy winner followed the Kushi diet, which, according to Women’s Health, is an anti-inflammatory diet. It consists of vegetables, beans and whole grains. P!nk also drank apple cider vinegar diluted with water. The diet also required her to not drink any liquids during meals.

04/6‘Biggest gift I’ve ever given myself’

It was after a very long time that P!nk took some time for herself, away from her daughter Willow, 11, son Jameson, 6, and husband Carey Hart.

“It was the longest I’ve ever been away from my kids, and the biggest gift I’ve ever given myself,” she recalled. “I did it for me, which in turn would be for them.”

05/6Successful weight loss

The “Try” singer lost some weight in these two weeks and continued to follow this healthy diet even after coming back home. The Kushi diet helped her to re-introduce some foods she ate before.

06/6Rest and me-time is important

More than losing weight and working on her physical health, the “So What” singer realized that this wellness program helped her to invest in self-healing activities.

“I got rest,” P!nk said. “I wasn’t getting rest before. I slept in a bed by myself for the first time in 11 years. I had time to meditate and cry and journal.”
